Bio-Luminum is a product from CoveringsEtc made from airplane parts to create a sleek, sophisticated looking tile. The aluminum is melted into blocks that are then cut into slices to produce the tile. They are beveled on one side with a straight edge on the other allowing the tile to be installed with either side facing outward.
The tile can be butt jointed or installed with a grout joint; however before installing they must be cleaned with a metal cleaner as they are not pre-sealed. Even though aluminum may discolor slightly if not sealed or waxed it is not necessary to do either.
