Daylights LED Wall Mounted Lamps from Phillipe Malouin

Daylights is an interesting series of wall mounted lamps designed by Phillipe Malouin that replicate a window with shutters. The lamps or “artificial windows” were inspired by plantation shutters with each slat lined with LEDs. The emitted light is reflected back off the wall on which the lamp is mounted to create the effect of a real window.

The LEDs replicate the color temperature of daylight and by adjusting the angle of the slats the intensity can be controlled. The geometric shapes of the lamps are based on Tangram a Chinese dissection puzzle with each one sharing a common set of proportions to allow for multiple configurations.
