One of the latest sustainable products introduced by Habitus is an Ivory Palm Mosaic Tile. It is made from Tagua, which is known as vegetable ivory or ivory nut. The material, almost indistinguishable from real ivory, is environmentally safe and sustainably sound. It is harvested from palm trees and fashioned into penny rounds suitable for use as flooring or on walls.
This natural, warm and durable material is as dense and strong as marble or stone making it ideal for use in high traffic areas as well as showers and can be installed in both residential and commercial projects. The mosaics are available in penny round diameter sizes of ½”, ¾”, 1” and 1-1/4” supplied on 12” x 12” face mounted sheets. The installation method is with traditional thin set mortar and a typical non-sanded grout.
