The Atlas Block CMUs, veneers, pavers and landscaping products incorporate up to 30% post-consumer recycled glass as aggregate. The aggregate, manufactured by Poraver, is made from glass that is powdered, mixed with magnesium oxide and other ingredients and is then heated turning it into puffs of small lightweight spheres. This aggregate is unaffected by alkali-silica reaction which can weaken concrete. The recycled glass content varies depending on the block type, however the PCR Block contains 36% of this recycled material by value and 20% by volume making it the greenest block on the market.
